Laying Foundations
in Malawi
In May, Paul and Shirley Fell, alongside a team from DSNY Wealth
Planning, Eames Laurie Financial Services and the Openwork Foundation
travelled to Kanjoka 2, Malawi to help lay the foundations for a new
school which we have helped to fund. This school is built in honour
of Paul and Shirley’s son Dom Fell, and Oliver Wissenbach, two young
men whose memories deserve to live on in something that creates
opportunity for generations to come.
The group received an incredible welcome and lived and worked
alongside the community during their stay. They mixed cement, carried
bricks, and laid the very first foundations together with local people.
The school community of 511 students, 271 of them girls and 6 teachers.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Paul shared a speech dedicating the
build to both Dom and Oli.
