OWLs roll up their
sleeves at historic
community hub
In June Owl Financial colleagues, Advisers and
Managers, got together to help a local community
hub in London. The centre, which is used by
charities such as UNACC which supports over 50s
in the community & surrounding area, was badly in
need of a clean-up. The Owl squad’s focus was on
clearing and painting the veranda area and cleaning
up the gardens.
Representatives from the centre couldn’t be more
thankful to all who came to help. It was fascinating
to hear about the history of the centre and grounds
from their team. Adjacent to a beautiful lake, the
Pavillion, as it was known, dates back to 1885. The
site used to be the world’s largest lawn tennis club,
with 54 grass tennis courts.
The site was transformed, and access to the veranda
reopened, much to the delight of some of the
regular visitors.
“I love watching the
birds on the lake since
my husband died, I find
it very calming. It’s nice
to be able to use the
veranda again and see
all the baby ducks”
