Everest Base Camp Expedition
In November 2027, the Openwork Foundation will be taking a team to
Everest Base Camp as part of a unique expedition alongside a group of
visually impaired trekkers.
Why join this trip?
Unlike many Everest Base Camp treks, which often suffer from a high
dropout rate, as teams climb too far too fast, this expedition prioritises
teamwork over speed. Supporting someone who is blind means every
member of the team needs to allow for proper acclimatisation, with
planned rest days and a strong emphasis on mutual support. The result
is an inclusive and rewarding experience that creates lasting friendships
and gives everyone the best possible chance of reaching Base Camp
successfully.
Along the journey, you’ll experience the breath-taking landscapes of
the Himalayas, immerse yourself in Nepalese culture, and help visually
impaired participants fulfil a life-changing ambition.
