Join our grants committee
Could you volunteer to help us ensure
our funds go where they will make
most impact?
As the charity expands our Grants Committee is
also looking for new members. We need additional
volunteers to give their time to review the
sponsored grant applications we receive and to
discuss and agree how funds should be allocated.
Each quarter the committee members prepare by
reviewing applications from our charities (typically
around 10 applications per quarter) before discussing
and allocating funding during a 1.5 hour meeting.
Members can participate in meetings remotely, so
you may be based anywhere in the country.
If you are interested in getting involved, please
email the Foundation team for more information
and to arrange to observe a grants meeting before
committing. The next committee meetings are
scheduled for 26 August and 25 November.
You can find information on how to nominate
charities for a grant on the colleague hub and adviser
portal, or email the Foundation directly.
A big thank you to Sara Winslow who is stepping
down after 5 years as the Chair of the Grants
Committee.
“As a group, the grants committee are continually
inspired by the vast range of charities we support
and the vital work they deliver, often under
increasing pressure and in the face of rising
demand. Each year, the personal stories we hear
through our applications process remind us why
this work matters so much. These insights reinforce
our commitment to directing our funding where it
can achieve the greatest impact and help build the
long-term resilience of the organisations we are
privileged to support.
We are extremely grateful for the continued
support of our advisers and our colleague
community whose generosity, time and
commitment enable us to continue supporting
those in greater need than ourselves.”
