A summary of our
governance and finances
Our charity governance
The Openwork Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees
who are responsible for the strategy, financial stability, charitable activities
and impact of our work. Our trustees are a mix of representatives from
the Openwork Partnership, employees of Openwork Services Ltd and
independent trustees.
The trustees meet quarterly to review the financial position of the charity,
its progress against our strategy, its effective governance and management,
and the risks facing the charity. The trustees also help with grant reviews
and fundraising, as well as actively supporting the profile, fundraising and
impact of the Foundation.
The trustees are supported by a Foundation team of five staff who deliver
the Foundation strategy and support volunteers across The Openwork
Partnership in our Fundraising Committee, Ambassador groups and Grants
Committee.
You can view our formal annual report and end of year accounts on the
charity commission website.
Our 2024 – 2026 growth strategy
By the end of 2026, we will double in size to be a charity that is embedded
in all parts of The Openwork Partnership with an annual income of £1m.
In 2026 we hope to reach a donation level of £1.1m a year to support
vulnerable people. To achieve this, we will engage with more people from
across The Openwork Partnership and effectively communicate the value
of the work we do.
We will also ensure that we are efficient and effective, with robust
processes designed to sustain this growth and direct as much money as
possible to good causes. We will focus on the fun and shared community
of the Foundation and the importance of life-changing grants to create
the engagement and emotional connection that will lead to more
donations, fundraising and support.
