Our Grants
Our latest grant awards
2025 was a record-breaking year for our grants programme with 1110
charities supported including our 2 strategic partners, and organisations
nominated by you for sponsored or discretionary grants. In total we
donated £762,000 to good causes.
Our support went to a wide range of organisations including hospices,
charities supporting people experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse
and addiction, adults and children with health conditions and disabilities
and those who are lonely and isolated.
Funding a food bank in East Kilbride
Ian Galston, Chair of the Foundation Fundraising Committee and
Company Director at EK Financial recently visited Loaves & Fishes, his
local foodbank in East Kilbride, to present a £15,000 grant on behalf of
the Foundation. The funding will play a vital role in supporting their
incredible work, providing essential assistance to those most in need
in the local community which goes beyond just providing food. Their
team commented, “Moving premises to our new community hub came
with some slightly scary numbers, with utility bills set to rocket, but it’s
the right thing to do for our service. This grant will ease these worries
significantly.”
Providing a new hoist for a therapy pool
We awarded Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool £15,000 towards a new
hoist to ensure the pool can be safely used by many users for years to
come. The pool is a fantastic resource for people with disabilities. Many
of the 600 weekly visitors are wheelchair users who need a hoist to
help get in and out of the pool, but the current hoist was old and had
become unreliable.
Sara Winslow who nominated the charity for a grant was delighted
to attend the ‘opening ceremony’ for the newly installed hoist. The
charity was also supported by our Marketing team who spent a day
volunteering their time to help refresh the centre with a new coat of
paint, help with the garden and sort items for their charity shop.
