Celebrating 45 years
of the Foundation
People from across the network came
together at the stunning Hampton
Court Palace to celebrate an incredible
milestone, 45 years of The Openwork
Foundation.
It was a memorable evening reflecting on the
Foundation’s remarkable journey over the past four
and a half decades and, more importantly, the lasting
difference it continues to make to individuals, families
and communities across the UK.
Rob Barker shared a heartfelt message about purpose and
the power of small acts of kindness. His words served as a
reminder that everyday moments often leave the greatest
mark.
One thought-provoking moment came from Dr Sarah
Ruggins, who challenged us to ask ourselves: “What
would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” A simple
yet inspiring question that encouraged us to be brave and
recognise the impact we can have when we step out of
our comfort zone.
Looking back on the Foundation’s journey, we were
reminded that its story has always been about people.
Every grant awarded, challenge overcome and life
touched has been made possible through the collective
support of our community.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported
the event, including our gold sponsors: MetLife,
Franklin Templeton and Sterling Street. The ball raised
an incredible £83,000, including 100% matching from
Openwork, helping to fund life-changing projects and
support those who need it most.
As the evening drew to a close, there was a real sense of
pride, gratitude and optimism in the room. Here’s to 45
remarkable years of making a difference, and to the next
chapter of changing lives together.
